If you've taken a look at our project timeline, you can see that there are many stages and lots of hard work and planning involved in building a cooperative grocery store. An important piece of the equation is getting expert opinion on our proposed project. We are working with CDS Consulting to complete a feasibility and market study for the project. We’ll also be utilizing several of CDS’s other consulting services with the funds that we raise. This consulting work is vital to proving the market feasibility of our co-op for Amherst!

In addition to the market study, we are also raising funds to pay for marketing materials and other expenses related to sharing information about the Co-op with our community. Those include: brochures, lawn signs, banners and posters, bumperstickers, and other marketing materials, as well as fees for event venues, fees for maintaining our domain name, web hosting costs, etc.

We are incorporated as a for-profit Massachusetts cooperative, but thanks to our fiscal sponsorship by the Cooperative Fund of New England we are able to accept tax deductible donations via our online Razoo fundraising campaign. Follow the link below to make a tax-deductible donation toward this exiting project.

Donations can also be made directly to the co-op by writing a check to Amherst Food Co-op and sending them to our PO Box:

Amherst Food Co-op
141 North Pleasant Street
P.O. Box 169
Amherst, MA 01002

Donations made directly to the Co-op through paper check or cash are unfortunately not tax-deductible, due to our for-profit incorporation status, so we encourage you to make your tax-deductible donations via CFNE's Razoo page above.

Thank you for your support!

In cooperation,

The Amherst Food Co-op Board of Directors
